Wildfire Burns Across Hilltop Near Turkish Resort of Mazi

Fire crews were battling at least nine wildfires in southern Turkey on Monday, August 2, after authorities had contained 129 fires over the last six days, the country’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli said.

The death toll from the devastating wildfires in Turkey had risen to eight by August 1, reports citing health officials said.

Several tourist areas remained affected by the fires, including the provinces of Mugla and Bodrum, on the country’s southwest coast.
