The biggest changes in Wild Rift patch 3.0: All set for Sett, GvG and more
Riot Games is going full steam ahead with League of Legends: Wild Rift patch 3.0 dropping into servers on Wednesday (19 January).
There are a lot of changes and activities that Wild Rift players can look forward to in this patch, including the introduction of a new champion, buffs and nerfs to others, Guild vs Guild Season 2, the return of URF, and more.
Let’s dig into the biggest changes in Wild Rift patch 3.0:
The Arrival of Sett, The Boss
As previewed in the LoL Season Opening last 7 January, Sett, The Boss from Ionia is joining the roster of champions for League of Legends: Wild Rift. He’s a Fighter/Tank type of melee champion, which makes him a viable pick in the top lane, but also a potential jungle and support flex pick.
Sett’s release is sett (pun intended) for 26 January at 00:01 UTC.
Champion Buffs
Ezreal
The developers think Ezreal’s damage isn’t as strong as it should be, and they want him to go back to being a “premier caster marksman”. So, Mystic Shot gets a hefty 10% AD ratio increase. Ouch, that’s all I can say.
Mystic Shot - 110% -> 120%
Morgana
Morgana can be a viable jungle pick on LoL PC from time to time, and the dev team wanted to reflect this on mobile, too. But what’s more important is the bugfix on the sinister sister to help her on the Rift.
Dark Binding [BUG FIX] – Fixed a bug where the root duration of Dark Binding was not reduced by tenacity.
Tormented Shadow – Damage to monsters: 150% -> 200%
Riven
For Riven mains, you might be relieved to know that your prayers have been heard. Some of her base stats have been adjusted so that the Exiled isn’t exiled in the laning phase.
Base health regen: 7.5 -> 9
Health regeneration per level 0.55 -> 0.68
Champion Nerfs
Dr. Mundo
When the Madman of Zaun was buffed last time, he seemed too overpowered against poke, so some of his Base stats are being dialed back a little.
Base health regeneration: 12 → 9
Health regeneration per level: 0.81 → 0.68
Jax
Is anyone having to deal with an overly aggressive Jax in the jungle? (I know I did.) His attack speed is taking a hit to slow down his clear speed in the jungle, but those who want to use him in the solo lane would be happy to know that his health regeneration has been tweaked to balance that out.
Base health regeneration: 9 → 12
Health regeneration growth: 0.55 → 0.81
Relentless Assault - Attack Speed per stack: 2.4%+ level × 0.6% → 3/5.5/8/10.5% (at levels 1/5/9/13)
Kayle
Kayle was nerfed recently because she was too powerful in the early game, but she’s still very strong in the late game. To make it easier to deal with her, her health per level has decreased, as well as her wave damage and passive damage.
Health per level: 105 → 95
Divine Ascent - Wave damage: 15/20/25/30 + 20% AP → 12/16/20/24 + 15% AP
Starfire Spellblade - Passive damage: 15/20/25/30 + 20% AP → 12/16/20/24 + 15% AP
Miss Fortune
MF has proven to be too powerful after her last buff, so the balance team decided to pull back a bit on the power given to her.
Strut
Bonus movement speed gained over time: 45/55/65/75 → 35/45/55/65
Total bonus movement speed: 70/80/90/100 → 60/70/80/90
Tryndamere
Another menace in the jungle, this champion is still too strong despite recent nerfs. So the Barbarian King gets another nerf this patch.
Spinning Splash - Critical strikes reduce the cooldown of Spinning Slash by 1s, doubled against champions → Critical strikes against minions reduce the cooldown of Spinning Slash by 1s, doubled against champions
Item Changes
Edge of Night
Combine cost: 800 → 950
Total cost: 3000 → 3150
Essence Reaver
Attack Damage: 40 → 45
Mana restore per attack: 2% missing mana → 3% missing mana
Hextech Megadrive
Refund cooldown for heals and shields: 5s → 3s
Rune Changes
Domination: Brutal
7 bonus attack damage and 2% bonus armor penetration, or 14 ability power and 2% bonus magic penetration (adaptive) → Gain 7 bonus attack damage or 14 ability power (adaptive)
New Features
Guild vs Guild Season 2
GvG is a new feature that was released on mobile last year, and already, Wild Rift is launching season 2, bringing the players to Ionia, with more rivalries to explore and a new Trophy Track. Trophy Points were also adjusted to make them easier to earn:
