Here's how Travis Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs schedule aligns with the 2024 Grammys, where his girlfriend Taylor Swift is nominated for six awards
The most prestigious event in music and sports is exactly one week apart — and two of the biggest names in those respective fields, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, are being recognized at each of them.
The pop superstar is expected to attend the Grammy Awards on Feb. 4 in Los Angeles and the following Sunday, the NFL star will play in the 2024 Super Bowl on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas. Ahead of the music event, fans have speculated whether Kelce will support Swift in person.
It's a big night for the songstress, who already has 12 Grammy wins to her name. Not only is Swift a six-time nominee this year, but she's in a position to make history as the first artist with four album of the year wins should Midnights receive the award.
Though Kelce has shown support for Swift in the past, previously attending her successful Eras Tour, the Kansas City Chiefs player has confirmed he won't be able to attend the Grammys amid his busy Super Bowl schedule.
Swift's attendance at the Super Bowl, meanwhile, is no walk in the park either! In fact, the pop star could soon double as a time traveler as she'd have to fly from her Eras Tour concert in Tokyo to Las Vegas in less than 24 hours to get to the stadium in time for kickoff.
Read on for a breakdown of Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs' schedule ahead of the Super Bowl and what Kelce has said about missing the Grammys.
What has Travis Kelce said about attending the Grammys?
Kelce confirmed on Jan. 31 that he won't be attending the 2024 Grammy Awards. When speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, he cited Super Bowl preparation as his reason why.
"Unfortunately, I gotta get ready for this big ol’ Super Bowl we got in a week," he said. “I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she’s nominated for but I think I got practice on Sunday."
When do Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs arrive in Las Vegas?
Super Bowl Opening Night officially kicks off the biggest week in football on Monday, Feb. 5. Taking place at Allegiant Stadium in downtown Las Vegas, hundreds of media will interview the players and coaches from the Chiefs and the 49ers during their only public appearance ahead of the Big Game.
It hasn't been made public whether Kelce and the Chiefs will touch down in Nevada the day before the kickoff event, but the team will be present for the Opening Night festivities. This also marks the only time the Chiefs and the 49ers will be together in one location before the Super Bowl.
Do Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs have practice before the Super Bowl?
Just because the Chiefs have made it to Super Bowl LVIII, doesn't mean the hard work stops now! As the defending champs return to the NFL Championships for the fourth time since 2019, the team must put in the work to clinch their third title.
The Chiefs — representing the AFC and the designated home team — will practice out of the Raiders' headquarters during the week leading up to the Super Bowl, while the 49ers — representing the NFC — will practice out of UNLV’s Football Complex.
The official Chiefs practice schedule hasn't been made public.
Do Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs have press conferences the week before the Super Bowl?
Media calls are scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 6 through Thursday, Feb. 8. Chiefs starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes, head coach Andy Reid and additional players are expected to attend, though details about Kelce's attendance haven't been announced.
The day after the Super Bowl, the winning head coach and MVP will gather on Feb. 12 for a press conference in Las Vegas.
Will Travis Kelce attend the 2024 NFL Honors?
There are a number of parties and events being held the week leading up to the Super Bowl. Among them is the prestigious NFL Honors, which celebrates the best and brightest players, coaches and performances of the season.
Kelce isn't nominated for an award this year; therefore, it remains unknown whether he will attend.
The 2024 NFL Honors will be held the Thursday before the Super Bowl on Feb. 8. Emmy-winning actor Keegan-Michael Key will return to the scene to host the event for the third time.
