Fans of Trinkets might be super excited to see that the show is finally back after its incredible first season. Despite all the love that these series has gotten from fans and critics, Netflix announced that season two was going the be the show's last when it originally got renewed.
While the finale certainly answered a lot of our questions from season one, it still left fans with some lingering theories as to what happened to their favorite characters later in life. And with still so much time in the school year left for them to continue the story, it's kind of confusing as to why the show isn't coming back for another season.
So why isn't the show coming back for season three? According to series and Trinkets book writer Kirsten "Kiwi" Smith, the show just ended up coming to a natural end on its own.
"I felt like we wrapped everything up. We kind of loved and embraced the idea of it being the final season. For me, in my heart, I just want to know that they’re going to be friends forever," she told HollywoodLife. "I kind of love that we can leave this season in a way that they’re going to just live as best friends forever and ever in our minds. We don’t have to see them go to college and separate from each other."
While we won't be seeing more of them as part of another season, at least we can rest easy in knowing that our favorite group of friends as still BFFs long after the show has ended. Plus, with the show living on Netflix and the book easily available everywhere, we can always revisit the world whenever we want.
