1) Randazzo's Camellia City Bakery (Slidell, Louisiana)
You'll find during your king cake search that there are many bakeries bearing the Randazzo name—all serving different versions of the iconic Mardi Gras treat. This one is a local favorite: With its cream cheese frosting, it essentially tastes like a massive Cinnabon cinnamon roll. Plus, the feel good component—the bakery sends a bunch of cakes to overseas troops ever year—doesn't hurt.

3) Haydel Bakery (New Orleans, Louisiana)
While Haydel's traditional king cake reigns supreme—it's covered with colored sanding sugar that dyes the frosting purple, green, and yellow—fans also love the many flavor options. Praline Pecan is a favorite, but you can also get cream cheese, strawberry, german chocolate, and chocolate chip brownie.

4) Manny Randazzo King Cakes (Metairie, Louisiana)
In 1995, Manny Randazzo decided to break off from his family's business and open a bakery dedicated solely to king cakes. The cakes that ship nationwide weigh in at two pounds, and they're infused with cinnamon then topped with cream cheese frosting. Every order also comes with a souvenir cup, beads, doubloons, and a note on the history of Mardi Gras.

5) Nonna Randazzo's Bakery (Multiple Locations, Louisiana)
The name of this bakery would lead you to believe it's the oldest of the Randazzo bunch—but that's not the case: The bakery, which now has four outposts, actually opened in 2006. Bakers here sprinkle their king cakes with rainbow nonpareils, with shades of yellow, green, and purple peeking out from underneath. You've got your choice of traditional or a small handful of fillings: apple, cream cheese, strawberry and cream cheese, pecan praline, and pecan praline and cream cheese.

6) Breads on Oak (New Orleans, Louisiana)
I know, I know—you were looking through this list thinking, but where's the vegan king cake?! Well, here it is, friends. Those who follow a vegan diet flock to this every Carnival season. This year, bakers introduced a Tiramisu flavor.

7) Joe Gambino's Bakery (Multiple Locations, Louisiana)
People like to pit Joe Gambino's against Haydel—which we only see as proof it's good enough to fight for. New Orleanians have called this spot the "King of King Cakes" in 1949, and the title lives on. You can tack on any number of accessories to your cake order: beads, cake toppers, masks, boas, and extra plastic babies.
They're all SO pretty.
