What's planned for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebration

"Platinum Jubilee Celebration: A Gallop Through History" is being staged as part of the events to mark the monarch's 70th anniversary on the throne.

Elizabeth, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, became queen on Feb. 6, 1952 on the death of her father George VI. The monarch is known for her love of horses.

There will be platinum jubilee celebrations in the UK throughout 2022, with a special weekend of events planned in June, according to Mike Rake, chairman of Platinum Jubilee Celebration - ''A Gallop Through History'' will be a warm-up act for that in Windsor.

"A Gallop Through History" tickets are on sale from Wednesday (September 22), with money raised going to charity. There will also be a chance for audiences to see the show broadcast live on the final night on television.
