'We're in It Now!' Storm Wallops Eastern Florida

Heavy rain and wind walloped eastern Florida on Monday, June 6, as the National Weather Service (NWS) warned of flooding in low-lying areas.

The NWS issued a special weather statement for the area as Monday’s storms threatened the region with pea-sized hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph. A tornado warning was also in effect for the area.

BJ Foreman said he took this footage from Palm City as the storm came through.

“We’re in it now!” he says in the footage as sheets of rain come down.

The NWS said the threat for severe storms would persist into Tuesday night. Credit: William (BJ) Foreman via Storyful
