Water Transforms to Ice Crystals in Frigid Wyoming Air

Below-zero temperatures accompanied a coast-to-coast winter storm that froze Wyoming on Thursday, February 23, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Video posted by the NWS in Riverton shows water becoming ice in midair as the temperature plummeted to -22 degrees Fahrenheit at the office on Thursday morning.

Roads were closed in the area due to blowing snow, the NWS said. A wind chill advisory was in effect for Riverton into Thursday morning. Credit: NWS Riverton via Storyful
