Water Rescues Ongoing in St Louis Amid Historic Flooding
Life-threatening flash flooding overtook St Louis overnight July 25 to 26 after as much as 10 inches of rain fell on parts of Missouri, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Local authorities warned residents to stay home as water levels rose, leaving cars and motorists stranded.
Fire Captain Garon P Mosby of the St Louis Fire Department said he shot this footage on Odell Street on Tuesday morning. The fire captain said crews rescued six adults “and an assortment of pets” from three homes, including a family that was trapped in their attic.
As of early Tuesday, St Louis had measured 7.02 inches of rain in five hours, smashing the previous record daily rainfall.
