Water Gushes Down Subway Steps in Brooklyn Amid Severe New York Floods
Water gushed into New York City’s subway stations as the remnants of Hurricane Ida brought flash flooding to New York on September 1.
Transit authorities said train services may be “extremely limited” amid the heavy rainfall and flooding. The National Weather Service issued a flash flood emergency late on Wednesday night, describing the flooding as “life-threatening” and urging locals to avoid travel where possible.
