Water-Dropping Helicopter Tanks Up Amid Battle Against Red Apple Fire in Washington

A state of emergency was declared in Chelan County, Washington, on July 14 after a quickly spreading brush fire broke out. By Wednesday evening, the Red Apple Fire had grown to more than 9,000 acres (about 14 square miles).

This video, filmed by Brian Pahlow, shows a Washington State DNR Wildfire water-dropping helicopter refilling from a nearby body of water.

Numerous evacuation orders were in place, and locals were advised to stay out of the area to allow emergency services ease of access. Credit: Brian Pahlow via Storyful
