Watch live: Harris rallies suburban voters outside Detroit
Vice President Harris is rallying voters outside of Detroit on Friday evening, concluding this week’s swing through the “blue wall” battleground states.
With just 18 days left until Election Day, Harris is making her appeal to rural and suburban voters alike in the critical swing states. Former President Trump was victorious in the Great Lakes State in the 2016 race, but President Biden — who withdrew from the 2024 contest in July — won it back for Democrats in 2020.
Harris spent time in Grand Rapids, Mich., and the capital city of Lansing earlier Friday.
Trump also held a campaign event in Detroit on Friday, a week after he bashed the city.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ’s polling index shows the two party nominees locked in a tight race in the critical swing state. Trump has a slight edge with 48.8 percent support to the vice president’s 48.1 percent.
Her comments from Oakland Hills, Mich., are expected to begin at 8:10 p.m. EDT.
