‘Iron Mike’ Tyson is competing in a professional bout for the first time in almost 20 years on Friday, having been lured out of retirement for a lucrative money-spinning spectacle that will net him millions of dollars win or lose.

The all-time boxing great and former undisputed heavyweight champion is now 58 and preparing to step into the ring with a man some 31 years his junior in the 27-year-old Paul, the YouTuber-turned-pugilist who is set for his 12th professional boxing showdown as he aims for a fifth consecutive victory to follow his lone defeat by arch-rival Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia in early 2023.

This mammoth event was originally supposed to take place in July, only to be postponed by four months after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up. It’s an officially sanctioned fight that will count on both boxers’ pro records, being fought across eight two-minute rounds and using heavier 14oz gloves and no headguards.
