Watch the First Trailer of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s ‘Look Back’ Anime Film
Look Back, an upcoming anime film based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s popular one-shot manga has released its first official trailer. Fujimoto is best known for his second major serialized work, Chainsaw Man, which propelled him into both popularity and success as well as winning the Harvey Awards for Best Manga three times between 2021 and 2023.
The original source for Look Back features a completely different mood and premise than Chainsaw Man. Published back in 2021, the 143-page standalone web manga follows the coming-of-age tale of Ayumu Fujino, a confident elementary schooler and her shut-in classmate, Kyomoto. The two first cross paths over a friendly rivalry upon discovering their shared love of manga creation, which eventually blossoms into camaraderie as they mature into their young adulthood.
Produced by Studio Durian, the anime film is directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama, an industry veteran who has previously worked in acclaimed anime productions such as Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, The First Slam Dunk and Chainsaw Man to name a few.
