Watch Ben Affleck attempt a music career, start a boyband with Matt Damon and Tom Brady in extended Dunkin' ad

He also gets some much-needed advice from Jack Harlow, Charli D'Amelio, and Jennifer Lopez.

Ben Affleck wants to share in wife Jennifer Lopez’s musical spotlight, but does he have what it takes? Based on the performance in his latest Dunkin’ commercial, that question is best left unanswered.

In the extended cut of his Super Bowl collab with the donut brand, Affleck is pivoting from movies to music as the leader of a weird new boyband called the DunKings.

Debuting their new single "Don’t Dunk Away at My Heart,” the group is composed of a reluctant Matt Damon and, on the keys, retired NFL star Tom Brady. While the original ad showed off their (admittedly limited) musical chops, the longer version gives us a glimpse into Affleck’s psyche… for better or worse.

As it turns out, Affleck isn’t just aware of the memes identifying him as “sad” or “bored,” he is actively trying to overcome them. And what better way than to prove them wrong than through the power of music?

Determined to get himself featured on Lopez’ new record, This Is Me… Now, Affleck burns beats onto a CD and attempts to record his own Dunkin’ jingle. When that fails, he sets a meeting with Gen Z influencer and Dancing with the Stars season 31 winner Charli D’Amelio, who finally figures out who he is.

“Oh,” she exclaims. “Jennifer Lopez’s husband!”

For his part, Affleck has questions about her career too: “Who is TikTok?”

Later, while sipping a cold Dunkin’ drink in a dark room, the Air and Hypnotic star gives himself a pep talk.

“They tell you you’re no good. You’re a goofy, middle-aged, clumsy white guy with no rhythm and you can’t sing on key… You’re not coordinated,” he says. “That means I can’t be a popstar? Underestimate Boston at your peril.”

Despite warnings from Jack Harlow, the gang head into the studio when Lopez is quick to shoot down their popstar dreams. But at least they tried. Plus, their efforts have inspired new limited menu items, like the DunKings Iced Coffee and the DunKings MUNCHKINS Skewers.
