Wally the Wandering Walrus Commandeers Inflatable Boat on Irish Coast

Wally, the famous wandering walrus, was spotted making himself at home in a rigid inflatable boat off County Waterford, Ireland, after months of travels that took him from Ireland to the coasts of Britain, France, and even Spain.

John Coveney said he captured this footage of Wally climbing into a boat in Ardmore Bay on Ireland’s southern coast on August 4.

Coveney told Storyful the walrus was safe and being observed from a long distance, without interference, by Seal Rescue Ireland volunteers.

Marine experts previously urged the public not to approach the walrus for the risk of harming or disturbing the mammal. Credit: John Coveney via Storyful
