Wall of Flame Burns Behind Homes as Blue Ridge Fire Bears Down on Chino Hills, California

The Blue Ridge Fire burned bright orange directly behind homes in Chino Hills, California, on October 27, video shows.

Local resident Robert Gavela recorded this footage showing the bright glow of the blaze behind homes as dark smoke billows into the sky.

The Blue Ridge Fire burned more than 14,000 acres and was 16 percent contained as of October 28, according to Cal Fire.

Evacuation orders remained in place for Chino Hills and surrounding areas on Wednesday, with about 9,000 homes under mandatory evacuation orders, according to local media reports. Credit: Robert Gavela via Storyful
