Wait, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Have a Movie Coming Out...in September
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have said literally nothing about non-stop rumors of their impending divorce, but they seem to be keeping things pretty amicable. Which is probably for the best since—plot twist—they have a movie to promote in mere weeks.
The couple, who starred in Gigli back in 2003, teamed up for Unstoppable, which stars J.Lo and is produced by Ben Affleck's production company Artists Equity. According to People, Ben and Matt Damon are two of 14 producers.
Ben opened up about working with J.Lo on the film (which is about wrestler Anthony Robles) to CBS Sunday Mornings back in March 2023, saying "What fun, what a joy to do something with her, see her be great, go to work with your wife, go to work with your best friend."
Production on Unstoppable wrapped in January, and according to Us Weekly, the film is being released in September. So...literally a month from now. Which means Ben and Jen will presumably be at the premiere together?
A source told the outlet that “Behind the scenes they have been finalizing what that will look like if they pull the trigger. Their main goal is to remain amicable.” So here's to hoping the press tour for this movie won't be too awkward!
FYI that Unstoppable appears to be premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which runs from September 5 through September 15. Here's the film description from the festival's website: "Moonlight’s Jharrel Jerome gives another outstanding performance amid a star-studded cast (including Don Cheadle and Jennifer Lopez) in this heartfelt sports drama about a college wrestler who dreams of going pro."
