A Vote For Kanye Is A Vote For Trump. Here's The Proof
As we often caution regulars here in the shebeen, never forget that those rats won’t fck themselves. From the New York Times:
One operative, Mark Jacoby, is an executive at a company called Let the Voters Decide, which has been collecting signatures for the West campaign in three states. [Ed. Note: Punchline alert!] Mr Jacoby was arrested on voter fraud charges in 2008 while he was doing work for the California Republican Party, and he later pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour. Mr Jacoby, in a statement, said his company was nonpartisan and worked for all political parties. “We do not comment on any current clients, but like all Americans, anyone who is qualified to stand for election has the right to run,” he said.
And this misdemeanant is not alone. From New York magazine:
One of West’s electors in the state of Vermont will also be a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Charlotte. Chuck Wilton, one of the three electors West’s presidential campaign named in a filing submitted with the Vermont secretary of State on Monday, was also elected by the Vermont Republican Party in May to serve as a delegate for President Trump at this year’s RNC. (Electors are the people who would – were the candidate to win the state – vote for them in the Electoral College.)...
Wilton was the second person with ties to the GOP to be linked to the West presidential campaign on Monday. A prominent Republican operative, Gregg Keller, was listed as the campaign’s point of contact in a filing with the Arkansas secretary of State. Keller, who did not respond to repeated requests for comment, is the former executive director of the American Conservative Union and has worked for a number of prominent Republican politicians including Mitt Romney and Josh Hawley.
Weaponising someone who is clearly in mental or emotional turmoil is appalling, even by the standards of this White House, but the use of improbable straw candidates is hardly unprecedented. Who can forget Alvin Greene, the South Carolina Democratic candidate against Senator Jim DeMint back in 2010? Many people – including Rep. Jim Clyburn – suspected Greene of being a Republican plant. And we certainly are in a golden era of technological fakery and deceit.
But the key to a successful straw candidate is that the notion that the candidate is genuinely independent has to be at least marginally plausible. Greene got a bit of the benefit of that doubt because, when he won the Democratic nomination, nobody had ever heard of him before. West is an international celebrity, married to another international celebrity, and he’s someone who’s conspicuously cuddled up to this president* as one of this president* few high-profile Black supporters. His candidacy is so clearly part of the president*’s re-election campaign that it should fool nobody. Vote for Kanye and you’re voting for Trump. They’re not even trying to hide it.
