Donald Trump has pulled off a shocking and decisive victory in the 2024 presidential election after flipping several key battleground states that Joe Biden carried in 2020.

The president-elect has won 277 electoral votes with results still rolling in, while Kamala Harris has claimed 224 votes, according to the Associated Press.

A Republican victory was looking likely after Trump won Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Georgia—all crucial swing states.

Now, the Associated Press has also called Wisconsin for the former president, putting him over the 270-vote threshold to claim victory.

Results from other battleground states are still incoming, though Michigan, Nevada and Arizona are all leaning toward Trump.

Trump had already declared victory before the results were official, telling supporters in West Palm Beach the campaign had “made history.”

“I want to thank the American people for the extraordinary honor of being elected your 47th president and your 45th president,” he said.

“This was a movement like no one has ever seen before. Frankly, I believe this was the greatest political movement of all time,” he continued. “I will not rest until we have delivered the strong safe and prosperous America that our children deserve and that you deserve. This will truly be the golden age of America.”

Trump will be taking office buoyed by a Republican Senate majority, after Republicans candidates claimed seats in West Virginia, Ohio and Nebraska, reported NYT and the Associated Press.

Earlier in the night, Trump won deep-red states Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia, his home state of Florida, as well as Mississippi, according to the projections.

He’s also picked up Tennessee, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio, Missouri, Wyoming, Louisiana, Montana, Utah, Iowa, Kansas and Idaho.

Blue Vermont was called early in favor of Harris, according to the Associated Press and CNN. Harris also notched wins in Minnesota, Maryland, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Delaware, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Colorado, Maine, California, Washington, Oregon, New Mexico, Virginia, Hawaii, New Hampshire and the District of Columbia.

The last battleground state polls to close were in Nevada, at 10 p.m. ET. Polls in parts of Alaska, which Trump won in 2020, began to close at midnight and will close completely at 1 a.m. ET.

Both candidates made last-minute pleas to get out the vote.

Trump’s team issued a text blast directed at male voters to “get off that beautiful couch.” Meanwhile, Harris’ went door-to-door looking for votes in Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, on the gubernatorial election front, North Carolina’s lieutenant governor and self-professed “Black Nazi” Mark Robinson lost his bid for the main job. And in Texas, Ted Cruz has retained his spot in the Senate over challenger Colin Allred, according to NBC News.
