Volunteers form human walls to help pedestrians cross busy roads as Chinese city welcomes tourists
Hangzhou, a southern Chinese city famous for tourist spots, has organised volunteers to help pedestrians cross busy roads as the city welcomes tourists during the Labour Day holidays. It is reported that this is the eighth year of the "Human Wall" volunteer service. However, some have criticised it as a "show" and a "waste of manpower." In response, Shen Tingchong, the relevant person in charge, stated: "We are doing a very positive thing. If it was just a 'show,' we couldn't have been doing it for eight years.” It’s reported that since the Labour Day holiday in China started on April 29, the scenic spots welcomed a surge in visitors. The video was filmed on April 29 and provided with local media’s permission.
