Meghan Trainor and husband Daryl Sabara have revealed the sex of their baby.

The Voice UK coach recently announced that she was expecting her first child and would be sitting out the next series of the ITV talent show as a result.

Appearing on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Meghan was asked about the sex of the baby, the singer teasing: "We've never told anyone... I saved it for you, Kelly, I love you.

"I did all those look [stories] online – how fast is the heartbeat? Where do your hips go? And I was like 'Oh, it must be this' and I was wrong," she added.

Appearing via video link, Daryl then revealed that their baby would be a boy, Meghan then explaining she was halfway along.

"I'm just over halfway and I don't know when to buy stuff!" she added. "And then people want to buy me stuff, but I don't want to have two cribs, what do I do?! Help me!"

Meghan's happy news was announced earlier this month, meaning she won't be appearing on the 10th series of The Voice UK and will be replaced by Anne-Marie in the coaches' chair.

However, the singer will still complete her work on the ninth series, which began at the start of 2020 but was halted due to COVID-19. A pre-recorded final and semi-final are due to air later this month, with Meghan appearing virtually from LA.

"I had such a great time being a coach on The Voice UK and spending time with everyone!" she said of her departure.

"I wish I could come back for season 10, but I'm taking time to start my family and want to be really safe with the current travel restrictions. I'll be missing you all very much and hope to see you soon!"

The Voice UK 2020 will return later this month on ITV.
