Vivek Ramaswamy says Super Bowl could be rigged to boost Taylor Swift — and Biden
Vivek Ramaswamy suggested on Monday that the Super Bowl could be rigged to boost the profile of music sensation Taylor Swift ahead of what he claimed was her plans to endorse President Joe Biden in the fall presidential election.
The former Republican presidential candidate floated the bizarro conspiracy that some unseen hand want the Kansas City Chiefs to win the big game because the pop superstar is dating Pro Bowl tight end Travis Kelce.
“I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month,” Ramaswamy mused on Twitter. “And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple this fall.”
Even Ramaswamy, who says climate change is a hoax and Jan. 6 was a peaceful protest, admitted he might be going out on a limb this time.
“Just some wild speculation over here, let’s see how it ages over the next 8 months,” he added.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre laughed off the ridiculous claim but did admit that some members of her communications team listen to Swift’s music.
“In the press office shop, there are a lot of Swifties… if you will, fans of Taylor Swift,” Jean-Pierre told CNN. “And so I’m just going to leave it there.”
Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur, was virtually unknown when he made a splash in the first Republican presidential debate.
He carried on a running feud with Nikki Haley before pulling out or the race and endorsing former President Donald Trump after a lackluster performance in the Iowa caucus.
Ramaswamy has used his sharp tongue to boost a variety of MAGA-friendly conspiracy theories as he seeks to boost himself as potential dark horse candidate to be Trump’s running mate.
The Swift tweet apparently seeks to capitalize on conservative animosity towards both the pop icon and her famous gridiron boyfriend.
Swift once endorsed Tennessee Democratic candidates in 2018 but has since kept quiet about her political preferences.
Kelce, a favorite target of All-Pro quarterback Patrick Mahomes, raised the hackles of MAGA loyalists when he appeared in ads for COVID-19 vaccines and Bud Light beer, which has been on their black list since it agreed to a marketing partnership with a transgender activist.
The Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11 after they held on to beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.
