Visitors Leave Yosemite National Park as Smoke From Creek Fire Spreads

Smoke from California’s fast-spreading Creek Fire was seen in Yosemite National Park on September 6, visitors reported.

The fire, burning in the Sierra National Forest, had reached over 78,000 acres and was zero percent contained by September 7, Cal Fire said.

The fire began on Friday evening, near Big Creek and Huntingdon Lake in Fresno County, and spread rapidly, prompting evacuations and rescues from a campground. Credit: @Amitgunner via Storyful
