‘Vincenzo’ star Song Joong-ki reportedly met British wife on set when she taught him Italian
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 1 — South Korean star Song Joong-ki reportedly met his new wife, British actress Katy Louise Saunders, on the set of the 2021 Netflix series Vincenzo.
According to Dispatch, Song grew close to Saunders as she taught him Italian during the filming of the series in 2021.
It seems they also learned the language of love as the couple reportedly continued dating since then, moving in together in Seoul last spring.
Song announced his marriage to Saunders on Monday in a post on his official fan cafe, as well as confirming his wife’s pregnancy.
“I have promised to continue my life together with Katy Louise Saunders, who has been by my side supporting me and someone I have spent valuable time with as we cherished each other,” Song wrote.
“Naturally, we dreamed of creating a happy family together. We have put in a lot of effort to hold each other’s promises to truth, and we are sincerely thankful as a new life has entered our lives.”
The 37-year-old actor thanked his fans for their kind wishes.
Saunder's family allegedly flew to South Korea to be with her during her pregnancy and marriage.
A source close to Song’s agency High Zium Studio claimed that a wedding ceremony is currently being planned but its date and location are undecided, Soompi reported.
Vincenzo is a 2021 South Korean series following a Korean-Italian mafia lawyer (played by Song) who attempts to reclaim a building secretly stashing 1.5 tonnes of gold.
