A vigil was held for victims of knife crime as a statue made with over 100,000 seized and surrendered knives was welcomed to Blackburn, UK, on the evening of November 4.
Lancashire Violence Reduction Network says the Knife Angel is a “national monument against violence and aggression.”
Speaking at the launch, Alfie Bradley, the artist behind the 27-foot-tall statue, said the “feedback’s been fantastic.”
A vigil was held for the victims and families who have been impacted by knife crime in front of the new addition to the city, which will remain in place until November 29.
Lancashire Police posted video showing the vigil, describing the evening as “amazing.” Credit: Lancashire Police via Storyful
