Vigil Held in Dunkirk One Year After 27 Drowned Crossing Channel

Hundreds of people gathered in Dunkirk, France, on Thursday, November 24, to pay tribute to 27 migrants who died when their boat capsized in the English Channel a year earlier.

Video by humanitarian organisation Calais Appeal shows a silent torch-lit procession. “Your borders, our dead,” one banner read.
