“The View”’s Sunny Hostin hilariously sums up fears over RFK Jr. leading U.S. health agency: 'Well, he has a brain worm'
Before Donald Trump asked him to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, Kennedy Jr. said he had "a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died."
The View icon Sunny Hostin has slammed brain-wormed political forces for, well, having brain worms.
The 56-year-old legal expert voiced strong opposition to Donald Trump selecting controversial politician (and husband of actress Cheryl Hines) Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to lead the United States Department of Health and Human Services over fears concerning his stances on issues like vaccinations, fluoride in water, and his own admission that an invasive brain worm caused abnormalities in his skull.
"Well, he has a brain worm," Hostin said matter-of-factly on Friday's episode of the talk show, after the cohosts strongly condemned RFK Jr.'s potential ascension to the highest post at the important government agency.
"I think maybe it's affecting the way that he thinks," Hostin added of her feelings on Kennedy Jr.
Hostin's observation comes after the New York Times published a report on a 2012 deposition in which RFK Jr. recounted doctors speculating that a dark spot on his brain might've been a tumor, and scheduled him for a procedure at Duke University Medical Center, though a different surgeon at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital offered a second (also alarming) opinion.
“[The doctor felt it] was caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died,” Kennedy Jr. said in the deposition, per the Times.
Hostin added that, "when people show you who they are the first time, you've got to believe them," and raised sustained fears over what Kennedy Jr. might do if he indeed takes the post.
Earlier in the segment, Joy Behar offered a half-joking speculation about what could happen to the health of Americans if Kennedy Jr. has control over the department, invoking an iconic Oprah Winfrey talk show giveaway moment by looking to the audience and shouting, "You get salmonella! And you get salmonella! And you get salmonella!"

In recent days, as Trump's picks for his second presidential cabinet come together, The View cohosts have condemned many of the choices, including Fox News personality Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense and Matt Gaetz as Attorney General.
