“The View” cohosts surprise Whoopi Goldberg with “Exorcist” doll for Christmas: 'What the hell is all this?'

"Nothing says Christmas quite like an 'Exorcist' doll."

Whoopi Goldberg was treated to a head-turning surprise when she stepped onto the stage of The View on Friday.

The Ghost actress and horror aficionado arrived at her spot at the Hot Topics Table to discover it had been “jingled” by her cohosts, who left her a collection of early Christmas presents: candies, holiday decorations, and... an Exorcist action figure.

Goldberg, who was visibly confused by the literal holiday spirit sitting on her side of the desk, welcomed everyone to the broadcast before bluntly asking, “What the hell is all this?”

Sara Haines explained that it is part of an ongoing office tradition among its staff and stars. “What you do is you spread a little festive spirit — some gifts, some candy — and then you pass the jingle on,” she said as a touched Goldberg held up the possessed glow-in-the-dark Regan doll. “So I was the first host to be jingled — and it kind of matches your vibe.”

Ana Navarro later revealed that Joy Behar recently “jingled” her, too. “She filled up my dressing room with pictures of Gerry, the guy from Golden Bachelor, because I don’t watch the show, then she had these two Christmas ornaments that were so foul they had to be blurred,” she said as an image of naked cartoon versions of Santa and Mrs. Claus was projected on screen.

Navarro then put on a large golden necklace that read ‘Ho Ho Ho,’ adding, “And she put this on my door, which I thought was a Christmas decoration, but Sara says is a name tag.”

Haines added, "And we thought, 'We’re not letting Whoopi get away without some jingle jangle.'"

Goldberg, who seemed skeptical about all the gifts, kept the action figure close as Alyssa Farah Griffin remarked, “I like The Exorcist. That’s a nice addition."

“Right on brand with Whoopi, right here,” Haines said, tapping the top of the box. “’Tis the season!”

Joked Navarro, “Nothing says Christmas like an Exorcist doll.”
