Young Cancer Patient Serenaded by Jacksonville Hospital Staff After Finishing Chemo

A young cancer patient was serenaded by staff at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, on October 8, after he finished his last round of chemotherapy.

Ian Bailey, who was a patient in the hospital, can be seen in the video smiling as staff sang a rendition of Taio Cruz’s 2009 song Dynamite, with new lyrics such as “ay-oh, no more chemo.” Ian becomes emotional toward the end of the video as he hugs a staff member who says “we’re so proud of you.”

Shannon Bailey, Ian’s mother, told Storyful she was happy to share with the world how “blessed and fortunate we were to have our son cared for by the most amazing, loving staff.”

“They are our family, and will forever be,” she added.

In a Facebook post the hospital said: “AYO, NO MORE CHEMO! Ian’s care team put together a very special performance to celebrate this HUGE milestone. Get your tissues ready.” Credit: Shannon Bailey via Storyful
