Two Swim Ashore After Light Aircraft Crashes Into Sea Off Fraser Island

Two men who were on board a light plane that crashed off the coast of Fraser Island, Queensland, on January 29 managed to swim ashore, according to local reports.

The plane, a Cessna 206, ditched about 150 meters off the eastern coast of the island.

The two aboard, one a trainee pilot, managed to swim ashore before being assessed by paramedics for minor injuries and airlifted to a mainland hospital.
