Two Rescued From Sinking Vessel Off Northern California

Two people were hoisted to safety three miles off California’s Año Nuevo Island after the 57-foot boat they were traveling in began taking on water on April 18, the US Coast Guard said.

A helicopter was dispatched from a Coast Guard station in San Francisco to rescue the pair. The crew then had to make an emergency landing at a parking lot in Santa Cruz due to low fuel, the Coast Guard said. Credit: US Coast Guard via Storyful
