Two Protesters Detained by Police After Breonna Taylor Rally in Washington

Two people were reportedly detained by police in Washington during a rally for Breonna Taylor on September 22.

The rally in Washington was being held in solidarity with protesters in Louisville, Kentucky, where Taylor was fatally shot by police.

“Several police came in bikes aggressively surrounded the two individuals. And blocked anyone from assisting,” Black House News told Storyful.

Kentucky’s state attorney general was due to announce whether he would charge the officers involved in the fatal Breonna Taylor shooting at an unspecified time during the week.

Six Louisville officers were under investigation for the death of Breonna Taylor, the 26-year-old emergency medical technician fatally shot in her home by LMPD in March 2020.

Officer Brett Hankison was fired on June 23 for his actions during the raid, and the City of Louisville agreed on September 15 to pay Taylor’s family $12 million and reform police practices as part of a settlement. Credit: Black House News via Storyful
