Lord Howe Island was battered by wind gusts of up to 150 km/h on February 14 as it was hit by the remnants of Cyclone Usei.
Strong winds were expected to affect the Australian island until the afternoon of February 14.

Cyclone Uesi had previously been a Category 3 storm when it passed the eastern coast of New Caledonia on February 12. The storm weakened as it traveled south towards Lord Howe Island.
