Trash Cans Drift Down Flooded Phoenix Street

“Very heavy rain” moved through Arizona’s West Valley causing flooding in Phoenix on Wednesday, November 20, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

This video shows a man walking through the rain to move two trash cans in the street of a Phoenix neighborhood. After he touched one, both bins began drifting down the flooded street as he looked on.

The NWS issued a Flood Advisory for the Phoenix metropolitan area and surrounding cities on Wednesday morning. The advisory warned of running washes and minor flooding in shallow areas.

The advisory also encouraged people not to drive through floodwater. Local media said police were directing drivers away from flooding that collected near an underpass in Phoenix. Credit: @coach_pick via Storyful
