Tornado Causes Major Damage in East Brewton, Alabama, Amid Tropical Storm

A tornado touched down near East Brewton, Alabama, on June 19, according to the National Weather Service.

The service said the tornado was on the ground near East Brewton and moving in a northeasterly direction in the early hours of Saturday, June 19.

The Escambia County Emergency Management Agency also confirmed a tornado had touched down in the area.

The National Weather Service warned of an increased tornado threat in coastal areas from far southeast Louisiana eastward to the western Florida Panhandle due to Tropical Storm Claudette.
