Smoke from the Pine Gulch Fire was visible in the nearby Colorado city of Grand Junction on August 10.
The smoke can be seen billowing skyward in timelapse footage Jackson Trappett shared to his Instagram page.
While describing the wildfires in the area as a yearly occurrence, Trappett told Storyful that this was “larger and closer to me than usual.” He added, “We’ve been living with the smoke daily.”
At the time of writing, the Pine Gulch Fire, which began on July 31, had reached 51,455 acres. The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office issued evacuation orders for several residents in the area. Credit: Jackson Trappett via Storyful
