Timelapse Shows Blocks-Long Lines at 3 Wisconsin Polling Places Despite COVID-19 Fears

Long lines were reported at polling stations in Wisconsin on April 7 as voters went to the polls to vote in the state’s Democratic presidential primary amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Video posted online shows long lines forming outside polling stations in Milwaukee, with voters observing social distancing and standing apart from each other, making the lines appear longer.

On April 6, Wisconsin Gov Tony Evers issued an executive order to delay the election until June, but the state Supreme Court blocked it.

The numbers of in-person polling stations were significantly reduced due to shortages of poll workers and in order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This included Milwaukee, where only five polling stations were operational.
