Thousands of Surgical Masks and Plastic Containers Wash Up on Sydney Beaches After Cargo Ship Loses Containers

Surgical masks and plastic containers washed up on the shores of Sydney’s eastern beaches on May 27, days after a large cargo ship lost around 40 shipping containers in rough seas.

Randwick Council closed a number of beaches as workers moved to clean the debris from areas including Malabar and Maroubra.
