Tennessee Officers Commended for Stopping Man Jumping Off Bridge

Two Tennessee law enforcement officers have been praised for the lightning reflexes they showed on April 8 as they reacted almost instantly to catch a man who tried to leap from a Knoxville bridge.

Knox County Sheriff Tom Spangler commended the work of a traffic unit officer, Brian Rehg, for coming to the man’s rescue, along with the Knoxville Police Department’s Lt Chris McCarter.

“Both Lt McCarter and Officer Rehg are true local heroes, not just because of this one incident but because they continue to risk their lives daily for the safety of others,” a post on the sheriff’s office Facebook page read.
