Sydney Police Seek Man After Money Snatched From Wheelchair User

Police in Sydney, Australia, have released security footage of the moment a man snatched money from a wheelchair user’s hands at an ATM in the city’s Haymarket area on May 24.

Police said in a statement the 42-year-old man, who has cerebral palsy, noticed two men in the enclosed area by the ATM on George Street at around 11:45 am.

“After completing a withdrawal from the machine, he was approached by one of the men who snatched cash from his hands,” police said.

Witnesses came to the man’s aid and the two suspects were last seen running north along George Street.

One man has been arrested and the search continues for the second.
