As State Department Offers Reward for Info on Election Interference, Russians Report Getting SMS Messages

The US State Department has offered a reward of up to $10 million for information about operations attempting to interfere with elections. The initiative was followed by reports of Russians receiving SMS messages about it.

The State Department carried more information about the reward on its Rewards for Justice website.

On social media, the US posted information about the offer in Russian. After its launch, a number of Russians posted on social media that they had received information about it in SMS messages, according to local reports.
