Snow Hits Amarillo as Firefighting Efforts Continue in Texas Panhandle

Some crews deployed to fight the wildfires raging in the Texas Panhandle started Thursday, February 29, in snowy conditions in Amarillo.

Video released by the Houston Fire Department on Thursday shows several fire trucks lined up in the wintry weather.

The much-needed snow moved across the region on Thursday, as weather officials warned of slippery roads and poor visibility.

The moisture and cooler “fire environment” is expected to help crews suppress the fire activity, forest service officials said. Credit: Houston Fire Department via Storyful
