Smokes Rises From US Embassy in Baghdad as Protesters Storm Compound
Protesters stormed the US embassy in Baghdad on December 31, setting fires, destroying security cameras, and attempting to smash windows, following US airstrikes on the Iran-backed Kataib Hezbollah militia.
This video shows the scene around the embassy, which is in the city’s Green Zone. Smoke can be seen rising from the compound.
Embassy guards fired stun grenades at people assembled outside, Reuters said.
