Smoke Rises Near Turkish Border After Start of Syria Invasion

Smoke rose from a cluster of buildings near the Syrian city of Ras al-Ayn, hours after the start of Turkish artillery and air strikes on October 9, video taken at the scene shows.

An account associated with the Syrian Democratic Forces posted video of black smoke rising from inside a cluster of buildings roughly one mile east of Ras al-Ayn. Throughout the day, civilians fled from Ras al-Ayn, which sits just across from the Turkish city of Ceylanpinar. An earlier SDF Twitter post reported multiple strikes in the area.
