Smoke Billows as Palisades Fire Burns in Los Angeles County

Two individuals have been questioned by investigators in relation to the Palisades Fire burning in Los Angeles County, Fire Captain Erik Scott said on Sunday, May 16.

Scott said Los Angeles Fire Department arson investigators and the Los Angeles Police Department had questioned and released one individual, and detained a second.

The fire began on Friday night, the Los Angeles Times reported. The blaze had grown to 1,325 acres with no containment by Sunday afternoon.

Approximately 1,000 people who live near Topanga Canyon Road were evacuated from their homes.
