Sirens Sound as Cyclone Tauktae Causes Rough Seas in Kunkeshwar, India

Cyclone Tauktae intensified into a “very severe cyclonic storm” causing rough seas along the western coast of India, the nation’s weather body reported on Monday, May 17.

Storm surges of up to three metres high (9.8 feet) in some coastal districts of Gujarat were expected, along with gustings of up to 210 kmph (130 mph), according to the India Meteorological Department.
