Shoppers Clutch Shelves as Earthquake Hits Zagreb Suburb

A magnitude 6.4 earthquake hit Croatia on December 29, the second earthquake to rock the country in as many days.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said the earthquake struck southeast of Zagreb at 11:20 am local time.

At least one person died on Tuesday, a 12-year-old girl in Petrinja, according to local reports.

The earthquake was felt in neighboring countries such as Slovenia, forcing lawmakers to evacuate the Slovenian National Assembly.
