'Severe Blaze' at London Launderette

Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters responded to a “severe blaze” at a launderette with apartments above it in Croydon, London, on July 2, the London Fire Brigade said.

Firefighters said they rescued one woman from the rear of the building, while a further two adults and one child left the property before emergency services arrived.

The blaze destroyed the ground-floor premises and damaged parts of the first and second floors. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
