Sailors and Firefighters Hospitalized After Fire on US Navy Ship

Thirteen US Navy sailors and two firefighters remained hospitalized late on July 12, the Navy said, after an explosion and fire on board the USS Bonhomme Richard at Naval Base San Diego.

This footage, posted to Instagram, shows smoke billowing from the vessel.

The San Diego Union-Tribune quoted Rear Adm Philip Sobeck as saying the fire was thought to have begun in a lower cargo hold where marine equipment and vehicles were stored. Credit: @shimmyshimmycoco86 via Storyful
